Shake open the fire blanket, spread it from close to your body toward the fire source, completely covering the flames to cut off air.
If it is a gas or electrical fire, immediately shut off the gas or power supply, then cover.
After the fire is extinguished and the blanket has cooled, remove the fire blanket using a non-contact method.
Store in a dry, ventilated place away from fire sources and damp environments to ensure easy access during emergencies.
When covering a fire, spread from the nearest edge to avoid sparks; protect face and hands.
