Attach the life preserver to your waist or an accessible spot; for automatic models, keep the pull cord exposed and free.
Upon water entry, the device automatically pierces the cylinder to inflate; alternatively, pull the cord sharply to instantly inflate the flotation ring.
Slip the inflated ring under armpits, hold it, keep head above water, await rescue.
After rescue, deflate, dry, and store. Replace cylinder before reuse.
Regularly check cylinder expiration date and seal integrity; replace promptly if expired or leaking.
Do not pull the manual cord casually except in emergencies to prevent accidental activation.
Store away from sharp objects and heat sources to avoid puncturing the airbag and causing the gas cylinder to fail.
